For the past few days, I have been spending time with God. I haven’t done a whole lot of blogging or cartooning. I have done more Bible studying and journal reading than anything.
Words quite literally cannot express how much Christ has changed my life and perspective in, just, everything, in the last few days alone. There really is not enough room on this blog to talk about how great, merciful and awesome God is.
I’ll be honest with you though!
For the last few weeks, I just felt discouraged. Things just didn’t seem to be moving the direction I was hoping for. I didn’t feel like I was producing anything.
John 15:5 reads as follows:
I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
Results of maturity…results of work we do both in and out of the church…results in our friendships…our families….our lives as a whole…will see fruit produced when we stay connected to the vine. If we, as the branches, are not connected to the vine, we will not be able to produce. Disconnection brings dysfunction!
It is even more awesome when Jesus takes us to a place that we’ve never been before, or to a person that we’ve never met or to a moment that’s too good to pass up.
On Facebook I made this comment and it really hit home with me even with reading and studying John 15:5:
“My best writing, my best blogging, my best web surfing and my best anything is “best” when God is invited before it’s even started!”
The greatest things on earth you accomplish will come as a direct result of staying connected with Jesus Christ.
